So there is this nice girl in the office and we eerily have too many things in sync. We are both born on March 17, we both have the same last name, and we both live in the same city that’s 40 minutes away from work. That’s a lot of random things lining up.
Granted, we both have semi-common last names, but that’s besides the point. Thankfully, she’s just turning 24 while I’m turning 29. And my grandparents hail from West Virginia, hers didn’t.
Still, what are the chances ?

I share my birthday with my wife’s grandmother, uncle, and cousin, which I’ve always found to be kind of strange.

I already have one, who easily got on my nerves growing up. Unfortunately God has a quirky sense of humor because my daughter acts the same exact way. Im trying to mentally prepare for the inevitable singing and dance performances I’ll be subjected too.
Would of been nice to have a older sibling though, then I wouldn’t of been the prototype child, lol.

Testpilot is a pretty common surname.

Remarkably good. It’d seem like a long shot, and that’s why the gist of what you described is referred to as the birthday paradox. Combine that with the fact that most people who work together live near each other as well and generally have similar commutes. Same with common last names. If you’re looking for similarities, you’ll find that you might have mothers with the same name or own(ed) the same type of car or went to the same school.
I’ve got a feeling you’re more interested in studying the girl than math but since you work with her it’ll take some doing, so brush up on this and impress the hell out of her at lunch. Godspeed.

This throws my entire perception of reality into question. Clone? Robot? Or long-lost twin? Taking all bets! I also offer video poker.

My wife shares a bday with my brother and my uncle. Although with my wife and brother, it's the same year. My wife is 6 hours older. Because, you know, I like them young but not younger than my brother. Priorities, lol.

My wife’s maiden name is only two letters off from mine, which isn’t that odd except we both have somewhat obscure Italian last names. Going through our family histories, there’s no connection or similarities beyond both of us having Italian ancestors (who hailed from different parts of the country). I’d guess our names are far more common back there than here in the US.
On a related note, when we have kids, they’re going to be confused why grandma and grandpa have similar names on both sides of the family.

My parents and my fiancé’s parents were both married on the same day, same year. They also lived in the same town even though my fiancé and I met in a different city.

Life is weird. My parents went on a cruise last month, and met some people from their old church, which they haven't visited in 10+ years.

Ha, i still find 03/17 bdays to be rare. Also, I’m happily married to a lovely lady, who is unlike any other woman, which I really like, :). She’s what you’ll call a ‘unicorn’.

Just think if you guys got married she wouldn’t need to change her name!
Your wife might not like it though. I went to school with a girl with the same birthday, same last name, and same color hair and eyes. We used to tell people we were twins, and when they didn’t believe us we would show them our licenses.

I have to be careful what I say about other woman around her...or ever. Yesterday during voting, I mentioned that the woman that just entered the building had cute hair. She didn’t like that. I told her “well obviously I want to see it on you!”.

Careful with that. It starts with a meaningless comment, next thing you know you’re awakened one night to discover she’s yeilding a knife, and insists you're cheating.

But yeah the other poster is right about not having to worry about the last name if you get married. lol
